Math 214 Spring 2006: Term Projects |
The Term Project is 20% of your semester grade. It is an exciting way of synthesizing the material in Math 214 with your own creativity to provide you with a learning experience where you have the opportunity to communicate mathematics in verbal form.

Here is a time line of important deadlines to make sure the Term Project is completed successfully.
Project Timeline
Friday February 17: Team Selection and Abstract Submission |
You should submit a typed one page proposal with the name of your project partner (or partners) with a very short paragraph describing the idea you are thinking of exploring for your Term Project. A title should also be included. |
Friday March 24th: Project Proposal |
You should submit a revised abstract and title with attached summary of sources of information and/or bibliography you are consulting as you research your Term Project topic. Should also include a 1-2 page summary of work done so far and work to be done before the project is completed. |
Monday April 10 to Monday April 17: Progress Check |
During this week, the Project Group should make an appointment to meet with me together in person to discuss the progress of your project and "check-in" to evaluate what needs to be done to complete the project. |
Monday May 1, Wednesday May 3 and "Monday" May 4: Project Presentations |
Oral presentation of projects will be in class on two
or three consecutive days, the last week of class.
Project Papers will not be due until the last day of class: Wednesday May 3. |
