Mid-term Exams (10% each)

Mid-Term Exam #1
The first exam will be on Friday October 11th Friday October 18th. The topics are all of chapter 1 and 2.1, 2.2, 2.4, 2.5 in Chapter 2.
The Practice Exams are the Exam 1 from 2010 and 2009 Exam 1. The Solutions to 2009 Exam 1 and Solutions to 2010 Exam 1 are available.

The Exam 1 Grade Distribution is

The second exam will be Friday November 22nd.

The topics are Section 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.7, 5.1, 5.3, 5.4, 6.1 and 6.2..
The Practice Exams is the Exam 2 from 2010 and Exam 2 from 2009. The solutions are available here and here.

Cumulative Final Exam (20%)
The final exam will be on Monday December 9  from 6:30pm-9:30pm. This final exam will not be optional. The Final Exam review session will be Thursday3-5pm in Fowler 307. I will also be available for questions in office hours all day Monday December 6th starting at 11am.

The topics of the ten questions on the Final Exam are likely to be:

2) Bifurcation, Phase Lines, Equilibria, Stability
3) Hamiltonian and Gradient Systems
4) Equilibria of Nonlinear Systems, Linearization, Jacobian, Eigenvalues

7) Phase Plane and Slope Fields
8) Heaviside Function and Delta Function.
9) Laplace Transforms and Initial Value Problems
10) Separation of Variables
