Grading

Senior Colloquium - Mathematics 400 - Fall 2000

End of Fall A grade of CIP (Course In Progress) will be given.
End of Spring

A  letter grade will be given based upon the following criteria:

75% on the final written paper and oral presentation;
10% on the timely and acceptable completion of interim goals and final products;
10% on the Comps I performance (and if necessary, on a timely and acceptable rewrite).
[Added Nov 02 + Nov 30, 2000: 10 points if passed, otherwise 1/10 of passed rewrite score (out of 100),  0 if rewrite not passed.]
 5% on attendance in the Fall and Spring, and for providing useful feedback to classmates on their presentations.

The written paper will be evaluated by me, your faculty mentor, and a small committee of faculty.  The oral presentation will be evaluated by your peers and the departmental faculty.   Although input will be given by the entire department, I will have the final word on the grade submitted to the Registrar.

Our first brainstorming session to determine the grading criteria for your Comps II project are recorded on the Round 1 - Rubric (JQ) page.
