Math 400: RESOURCES

Here are some useful resources for students interested in applied mathematics

  1. Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, the world's premier professional association for people who apply mathematics every day, in their job, school and life.

  2. Overleaf has free access to the mathematical typesetting software program LaTeX

  3. Octave, a free software program that emulates Matlab. There's a free online interface at octave-online.net

  4. Cool software program(s) that plots direction fields dfield and phase planes pplane of ordinary differential equations. Requoires installation of Java.

  5. Check out the Desmos website. You can create your own graphs and other interactive mathematical objects there.

  6. The Geogebra website also has free access to online graphing calculators and creation of other geometric and algebraic objects.
