List serves
List serves are available as e-mail discussion groups where messages center on a particular topic for subscribers to read. With list serves, subscribers receive all the messages posted. Basically, there are two types of list serves: unmoderated where no one filters out extraneous messages and moderated where an individual reads every message before it is posted. Most of the list serves available through the Society of Actuaries are unmoderated. Each of the list serves has its own set of instructions to subscribe and unsubscribe. Technical questions regarding public or private list serves may be directed to Michael Dowdy, Network Administrator.
Public list serves
Public list serves are open for members, nonmembers, students, et al, to join. Use the
JOIN button to subscribe (where available) to be added to a public list serve or contact
the liaison. Use the LEAVE button to unsubscribe (where available) to be removed from a
public list serve or contact the liaison.
The purpose of this list serve is to provide
actuaries who support attorneys in litigation a forum where ideas, concepts and
methodology may be freely exchanged.
