A large number of candidates will be eligible for the Fellowship Admissions Course (FAC) in the first half of 2000. Concern has been expressed about the SOA’s ability to accommodate such a large number of candidates for the FAC. Accordingly, the SOA is considering the following order for acceptance of FAC registration: 

1. Candidates who will complete all requirements (without benefit of conversion credit) under the old system by passing November 1999 courses will be eligible to register for the FAC prior to the November 1999 exams. This is the current approach.
   
2. Candidates who will have sufficient conversion credit to complete all educational requirements, aside from the FAC, under the new system will automatically qualify for registration on January 2, 2000.
   
3. Candidates who need to complete some part of the Professional Development (PD) requirement to meet the new educational requirements may submit their PD plans beginning October 1,1999 and may register for the FAC once their plans have been approved and executed but in any event not before January 2, 2000.
