Math 396: Mathematical Modeling (Industrial Mathematics)

This is not a regular class! The format of the class is a weekly hands-on seminar where students will work together in groups on solving actual real-world problems provided by stakeholders external to the university, primarily from business, industry or government.

PIC-Math

The Spring 2016 edition of Mathematical Modeling is intended to be a clinical capstone experience in solving a real-world problem using mathematics. This is one of a series of classes supported by a National Science Foundation award (DMS-1345999) through the Preparations for Industrial Careers in Mathematical Sciences (PIC Math) program.

Pre-requisites are Math 212 (Multivariable Calculus) and Math 214 (Linear Algebra) or Permission of Instructor.

The class will meet on Tuesdays from 10:00am-11:30am in Fowler 113.
