Goal |
There are a number of points we want to understand today, but the primary one is the rationale behind overturning the ban on same-sex marriage as articulated by the Massachusetts Supreme Court in Goodridge, and distinguishing it from the rationales and reasons that are then used by the three other State Supreme Courts that have come to similar conclusions: California (2008), Connecticut (2008) and Iowa (2009).
