The CONAC is a professional membership, nonacademic, independent organization for all
actuaries licensed to practice in Mexico, regardless of their specialty. It is recognized
by the Ministry of Education as the representative organization of actuaries and is
responsible for issuing and supervising the code of professional conduct, supervising
professional and continuing education, advising on all matters of its competence, and
providing expert opinion upon request of any national or local authority. It also promotes
different activities and events to elevate the technical expertise of practicing
actuaries, to strengthen the communication among professionals, and to serve society as a
group.

The Joint Board is a government unit responsible for the enrollment of individuals who
wish to perform actuarial services under ERISA. It requires passing three examinations
(EA1-Segment A, EA1-Segment B, and EA2) and satisfying an experience criterion before
granting the designation of Enrolled Actuary. These examinations are administered by the
SOA.

science programs. Students are encourged to contact the individual schools for more
detailed information on their actuarial science programs. It is not necessary to attend
one of these universities or to study actuarial science as an undergraduate to become an

Actuaries Associateship and Fellowship Catalog.
