Entry-level jobs

Actuarial students may sign up with Christi Clifford in RLM 8.100 for interviews, as scheduled. For encouragement, take a look at the list of recent graduates' first jobs.

In the first week of each long semester, the Actuarial Studies Program collects printed resumés of students seeking entry-level actuarial positions by the end of that semester or the next; these are mailed to about 400 employers. The most recent calls for resumés can be accessed below. In addition, the Program posts brief standardized resumés on the World Wide Web for those same students that prepare them in that format; feel free to view the most recent such resumés as well as the instructions for preparing them.

The Society of Actuaries operates a free Resumé Matching Service for unemployed members and students with more than 100 actuarial exam credits. The Resumé Matching Service is available at no charge to job candidates or employers. Employers submit applications listing qualifications for available positions. An SOA ombudsperson will match qualifications from applications of unemployed members and students with more than 100 exam credits and send them to the appropriate companies. Candidates will be categorized by education, professional level, area of practice, and experience. To request a candidate application or an employer job listing application, contact the Exam Ombudsperson Pat Holmberg at the Society office.

A free job-board posting actuarial openings can be found at http://www.actuarialrecruiter.com/jobs/ .
