The use of the CAS Web Site has grown steadily in its two years of existence. A record number of pages, over 113,000, were accessed in November 1998, the first month to exceed the 100,000 plateau. Similarly, the number of CAS members registered for access to Members Only has grown at a steady pace. Of 3058 CAS members, over 1600 have registered for access to the Members Only section.

The Committee on Online Services invites you to participate in a contest to predict, using whatever actuarial techniques you deem suitable, when the 2000th member will be registered for access to the Members Only section. The graph below is provided to aid you in your prediction. The date of the 2000th registration is defined as the date the 2000th record is entered in the Access database of member's user names and passwords.

The person closest to the actual date will have his or her technique profiled in the Actuarial Review. Send your predictions to Amy Wright at the CAS office at awright@casact.org.

If you are a CAS member and do not currently have access to the Members Only section of the CAS Web Site, send your requested user name and password to Amy Wright. She will notify you when access has been activated.
