List of Graphical Devices
DESCRIPTION:
These graphics devices are currently available in S-PLUS. You must start a graphics device before you use any graphics functions such as plot (the plots need to go somewhere). S-PLUS sessions begin with no graphics devices open.

The devices with printgraph and/or image listed after them support those functions. Those devices followed by "dynamic" support the brush and spin functions.

WINDOWING SYSTEMS:

motif: X11 Window System (printgraph, image, "dynamic").

openlook: X11 Window System (printgraph, image, "dynamic").

X11: X11 Window System (printgraph, image, "dynamic"). X11 should be considered deprecated.

DIRECT HARDCOPY:

hpgl: Hewlett-Packard HP-GL plotters. (Including 7470, 7475, 7220).

hplj: Hewlett-Packard LaserJet (printgraph, image).

pic: Graphics Device for Pic Troff Preprocessor.

pscript: Any PostScript language device (printgraph, image). The pscript function is included for backwards compatibility and should be considered deprecated. Use of the postscript function is recommended instead.

postscript: Any PostScript language device (printgraph, image).

gp19: Zenith terminal with Northwest Digital Systems board (printgraph).

gp29: Zenith terminal with Northwest Digital Systems board (printgraph).

gp220: Northwest Digital Systems GP-220 terminal (printgraph).

hp150: Hewlett-Packard 150 touch screen terminal (printgraph).

hp150a: Hewlett-Packard 150 touch screen terminal alternative device.

hp2393a: Hewlett-Packard 2393 scope.

hp2397a: Hewlett-Packard 2397 scope.
