Mathematical Models of
Epidermal Wound Healing

In this presentation we will derive multiple mathematical models of epidermal wound healing, beginning with the pioneering model proposed by mathematical biologists Jonathan Sherratt and James Murray in 1990. We will perform mathematical analysis on these models as well as numerically solve them through the method of lines. Finally, we will present entire solutions to the epidermal wound healing model and derive clinical implications through different mathematical techniques and modeling software. Throughout the presentation we will discuss how mathematics and mathematical modeling can have real world applications in other academic fields such as biology."
