Text: Hughes-Hallett, Gleason, et al. Calculus, single variable (second edition). We will work with topics from chapters 3, 6-10, and section 4.8.

Homework: HW will be assigned and collected in every class meeting. You are strongly encouraged to work with others on HW; but you must write it up in your own words. Copying is cheating, and will be treated as such!

Labs: Labs (and group work for lab write-ups) are not optional. They count as part of your grade for the course. Please make sure you are enrolled in one of the Thursday sections.

Quizzes: We will usually have one quiz each week, most of the time take-home, but sometimes in class.

Midterms: There will be two midterms, probably during the 4th and 9th weeks of the semester. We will announce the exact dates 1-2 weeks in advance.

Final: The final exam will be on Monday May 8th, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Please make sure you do not have any time conflicts (or travel plans) with this date and time, as we do not give early or late finals!

Gateway Exams: There will be three gateway exams this semester. Each gateway exam may be taken several times. However, you must pass each of them by the dates indicated below. For each gateway exam that you do not pass by the indicated deadline, YOUR FINAL GRADE FOR THE COURSE WILL BE LOWERED BY ONE NOTCH (e.g., from B to B-, or from B- to C+).
